Call to Worship:……………………………………….Jean Marie
This is the day the Lord hath made;
He calls the hours his own.
Let heaven rejoice, let earth be glad,
and praise surround the throne.
Opening Prayer: ………Psalm 139:1-12…….Jean Marie
O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
You search out my path and my lying down,
and are acquainted with all my ways.
Even before a word is on my tongue, O Lord,
you know it altogether.
You pursue me behind and before,
and lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high, I cannot attain it.
Whither shall I go from your spirit?
Or whither shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
If I say, “Let only darkness cover me,
and the light about me be night,”
even the darkness is not dark to you,
the night is bright as the day;
for darkness is as light with you. Amen.
Opening Hymn: “I Come with Joy” UMH #617
Words: Brian Wren, 1968 Music: The Southern Harmon, 1835;
Words © 1971 Hope Publishing Co.; harm. © The United
Methodist Publishing House
1. I come with joy to meet my Lord, forgiven, loved
and free, in awe and wonder to recall his life laid down
for me, his life laid down for me.
2. I come with Christians far and near to find, as
all are fed, the new community of love in Christ’s
communion bread, in Christ’s communion bread.
3. As Christ breaks bread and bids us share, each proud
division ends. The love that made us makes us one, and strangers now are friends, and strangers now are friends.
4. And thus with joy we meet our Lord. His presence,
always near, is in such friendship better known; we see and praise him here, we see and praise him here.
5. Together met, together bound, we’ll go our different
ways, and as his people in the world, we’ll live and speak
his praise, we’ll live and speak his praise.

Offertory:..“For Everyone Born A Place at the Table ”..Choir
Words: Shirley Erena Murray Music: Brian Mann © 1998 Hope Publishing Company © 2000 Brian Mann
For everyone born, a place at the table,
for everyone born, clean water and bread,
a shelter, a space, a safe place for growing,
for everyone born, a star overhead,
and God will delight when we are creators
of justice and joy, compassion and peace:
yes, God will delight when we are creators
of justice, justice and joy!
For woman and man, a place at the table,
revising the roles, deciding the share,
with wisdom and grace, dividing the power,
for woman and man, a system that’s fair,
Refrain: and God will delight when we are creators
of justice and joy, compassion and peace:
yes, God will delight when we are creators
of justice, justice and joy!
For young and for old, a place at the table,
a voice to be heard, a part in the song,
the hands of a child in hands that are wrinkled,
for young and for old, the right to belong,
Refrain: and God will delight when we are creators
of justice and joy, compassion and peace:
yes, God will delight when we are creators
of justice, justice and joy!
For just and unjust, a place at the table,
abuser, abused, with need to forgive,
in anger, in hurt, a mindset of mercy,
for just and unjust, a new way to live,
Refrain: and God will delight when we are creators
of justice and joy, compassion and peace:
yes, God will delight when we are creators
of justice, justice and joy!
For everyone born, a place at the table,
To live without fear, and simply to be,
To work, to speak out, to witness and worship,
For everyone born, the right to be free,
Refrain:and God will delight when we are creators
of justice and joy, compassion and peace:
yes, God will delight when we are creators
of justice, justice and joy!
For gay and for straight, a place at the table,
a covenant shared, a welcoming space,
a rainbow of race and gender and color,
for gay and for straight, the chalice of grace,
Refrain: and God will delight when we are creators
of justice and joy, compassion and peace:
yes, God will delight when we are creators
of justice, justice and joy!

Gospel Lesson:……….Matthew 9:18-26…..….Melrose D.
While he was saying these things to them, suddenly a leader came in and knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.” And Jesus got up and followed him, with his disciples. Then suddenly a woman who had been suffering from a flow of blood for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his cloak, for she was saying to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be made well.” Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart,
daughter; your faith has made you well.” and the woman was made well from that moment.
When Jesus came to the leader’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd making a commotion, he said, “Go away, for the girl is not dead but sleeping.” And they laughed at him. But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl got up. And the report of this spread through all of that district.
Hymn of Preparation:“Come, Share the Lord” #2269 TFWS
Words and Music: Bryan Jeffery Leech
© 1984, 1987 Fred Bock Music Co.
1. We gather here in Jesus’ name, his love is
burning in our hearts like living flame; for
through the loving Son the Father makes us one:
Come, take the bread; come, drink the wine;
come share the Lord.
2. No one is a stranger here, everyone belongs; finding
our forgiveness here, we in turn forgive all wrongs.
3. He joins us here, he breaks the bread, the Lord who
pours the cup is risen from the dead; the one we love
the most is now our gracious host; Come, take the bread,
come, drink the wine; come, share the Lord.
4. We are now a family of which the Lord is head; though
unseen he meets us here in the breaking of the bread.
5. We’ll gather soon where angels sing; we’ll see the
glory of our Lord and coming King; now we anticipate
the feast for which we wait: Come, take the bread;
come, drink the wine; come, share the Lord.

CONFESSION & PARDON
Pastor Liz: Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
All pray in silence.
Pastor Liz: Hear the good news:
Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God’s love toward us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
All: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
All: Glory to God. Amen.
THE PEACE
Let us offer one another signs of reconciliation and love.
All, including the pastor, exchange signs and words of God’s peace by crossing hands, wave to one another due to social distancing guidelines.
Pastor Liz: The Lord be with you.
All: And also with you.
Pastor Liz: Lift up your hearts. The pastor may lift hands and keep them raised.
All: We lift them up to the Lord.
Pastor Liz: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
All: It is right to give our thanks and praise.
Pastor Liz: And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
All: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
Pastor Liz: In union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.
All: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.
Pastor Liz: All honor and glory is yours, almighty Father, now and forever.
All: Amen.

You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace;
the mountains and the hills will break forth before you;
there’ll be shouts of joy, and all the trees of the field
will clap, will clap their hands. And all the trees of the
field will clap their hands, the trees of the field will
clap their hands, the trees of the field will clap their
hands while you go out with joy.
